ASIA.7-A WOK TO REMEMBER
2nd March, Saturday evening witnessed an elaborate combination of activities. This year the theme was 07 Asian countries and students and teachers restlessly worked to make the evening special, offering great entertainment by our own students, live Band show by THE MERAKIST.
Culinary competitions, elaborate lay of buffet from all 07 celebrated countries.
Chief Guest Chef Davinder Kumar Vice President (F&B Production) & Executive Chef, Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi congratulated the director faculty, students & management of the institute for taking this kind of initiative and presented an award of excellence to Dr. Rajan Makkar on behalf of the institute.
There were other Hotel senior professionals present as guests of Honour including Presiding Officer Ms. Sareena Kochar -Vice President(HK),Lemon Tree Hotels, Aerocity, New Delhi, Chef Parvinder Singh Bali, Corporate Chef (L&D), The Oberoi Hotels, Chef Rajiv Malhotra, Prof. Dr. Daleep Singh-Ex Vice Chancellor SGT University Gurugram.
The management and execution of the event was appreciated by one and all.
The culinary journey was delightful and offered sumptuous delicacies and blast of flavors from 07 countries. It was indeed a gastronomic adventure for all the guests and a great learning experience for Hotel Management students.

Dr. H.G. Parsa’s knowledge, experience and expertise provided important insights on Revenue Management and it was gratifying to note that the agenda of the workshop offered great learning for hospitality, hotel and service professionals on Pricing Strategies for Profitability, Worldwide Revenue Management Strategies in Hospitality, Revenue Management in Practice, Revenue Analytics &Revenue Management Simulations.
While the participants shared their experiences from hospitality sector, Food Wastage Management issue was highlighted at a common front. They shared that some steps are being taken in this direction and at the same time few innovative ideas are also incorporated to create awareness among the guests, so that the wastage is reduced. This workshop offered participants a platform to exchange ideas, enhance their skills, discover novel opportunities, reacquaint with colleagues, meet new friends and broaden their knowledge.
Dr. H.G. Parsa was overwhelmed with the hospitality that he received and acknowledged the true participation spirit of all present for the session. He believes in living life for the community “Don’t think how much you got, Always think how much you gave – Zindagi jene k liye nahi, Duniya badalne k liye hai”. His words are a true inspiration for one and all.
Chef Davinder Kumar appreciated and congratulated Management & Director, GIHM for taking this initiative in making this event a success. He also expressed his confidence for the institution to become one of the best Hotel Schools of India. He looked forward for such more intellectual collaborations in the near future. He was deeply impressed by Dr. Parsa’s extensive knowledge & experience.Dr. Rajan Makkar applauded everyone for their valuable support and efforts which were instrumental in making this session a success and proposed the plan of organizing such events bi-annually.The event concluded with a group photograph for the memories to be cherished later.
