Faculty and Students of GIHM celebrated the 72nd Indian Independence Day by organizing a theme lunch, called 'Independence Day Special Luncheon'. The Training Restaurant witnessed a number of guests and everyone enjoyed the rich menu which was specially cooked in line with the theme. The dishes were well presented and served to the guests, making their dining experience an awesome one.

Rakshabandhan was celebrated in Gateway International School on 24th August 2018 with spirited festive verve and gaiety. There were musical presentation and poem recitation on the occasion which was accompanied with a rakhi tying ceremony of siblings who are studying in GIS.

TECHNICAL SEMINAR AT GIET

A Technical seminar was organized in GIET on 'Salesforce Trailhead' Seminar by ICT Academy ON August 21, 2018. The students of Ist Year (B.Tech and BCA) learnt how to use the best of technology. Different guided learning paths were covered for the entire course through Salesforce skills. It provided the necessary skills that one needs to upgrade for future. The speaker for the session was Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Singh, an experienced personality in the Educational and IT - Software industry. The objective of the seminar included learning Privacy and Data Protection Law, using Cloud connect. accelerating analytics with Apps, achieving goals with salesforce cloud, etc.

INTER-CLASS PATRIOTIC SINGING COMPETITION

|
GIS juniors organized an Inter-class Patriotic singing competition for the students of classes III-V on August 24, 2018, Friday. The abundant energy and patriotic fervor of the children were depicted in their songs. Each one of them sang with the same zeal, evoking the feeling of patriotism in all present. All the participants were appreciated by the Headmistress Ma’am and the winners were awarded.

Gateway School Business welcomed Dr. C.S. Sharma, Associate Professor, SRCC, DU Delhi as the Guest Lecturer on August 23, 2018. Dr. C.S. Sharma discussed with students regarding the opportunities in BBA, lifestyle, communication skills, and motivation.

Today an interdepartmental volleyball tournament was organized in GIET in which 7 different teams from different departments participated. In league stages, tough matches were seen among the different teams. The final played between B.Tech CSE and BBA was neck to neck, but the nerves were held by B.Tech CSE team in the final moments and consequently registered a thrilling win over BBA team.

A presentation cum workshop on conservation of forests and wildlife for the students of X-XII was organized.

GCAD organized a guest lecture on August 29, 2018, by Ar. Saurabh Chandra, Director and Principal Architect of DDF Consultants Pvt. Ltd, a leading Consultancy organization providing research and consultancy in various fields related to Built Environment. He shared his experiences with the students and gave an enlightening presentation to encourage them to utilize their present time to be prepared for the coming professional life.

It is a matter of great pride to share that Honourable Vice Chancellor of DCRUST, Dr. Ravinder Kumar Anayat has nominated Dr. Vijay Mittal, the Principal of GIET, as the member of the University Library committee for a period of two years i.e. 2018-20.

Gateway Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET), Sonipat, started the new teaching sessions of B. Tech, B.C.A. and Diploma Engineering with a Hawan Ceremony.

A Hawan ceremony was performed on August 24, 2018 in Ekam dining hall for class XI students and the mess staff amid pious chanting of mantras. Offerings were made to the Almighty to pray for divine grace and blessings in the coming year.

On August 6, 2018, the new session of Hotel Management students began with a formal induction into the institute’s culture, system and four days powerful well-designed sessions of Art of Living. These sessions offered exercises on management, civility, moral values, meditation and Sudarshan Kriya. All the participants found it meaningful and refreshing.

GSB WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS

An introduction program was organized by the Gateway School of Business to make the students comfortable with their fellow students on August 21, 2018.

A power seminar was organized as a part of the orientation program on 'Learning and Motivation' by ICT Academy on August 20, 2018, for 1st-year students of GIET. The Speakers were Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya- a multi-faceted personality and Mr. Rahul Kapoor, an experienced person in e-learning. The sessions focused on inculcating confidence, right time management, having and achieving goals, etc. It also passed the central idea on how to use effective use of the resources and increase productivity. The session proved to be a great learning for the students.

One of independent India's tallest leaders and former Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji passed away on August 16, 2018. Vajpayee ji was known for his poetry, statesmanship and political acumen. He is credited for making India a nuclear power through the Pokhran tests.
