Gateway Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sonipat (GIET) has organized a Table Tennis tournament and a Kabaddi tournament on its campus on 29/03/23. Students of all the branches took active participation. Students showed a keen interest in sports. About 40 students took part in Table Tennis, and a total of 5 teams took part in the Kabaddi tournament.

Dr. Vinay Kumar Singhal, the principal of GIET, during the address of his speech, told the students to play in harmony and maintain sportsmanship during the tournament. He also encouraged the morale of the students by giving them the message that they will get full support from the college if they want to hound their sporting skills. During this, sports in-charge Mr. Ajay Kumar along with Mr. Mohit Bhatnagar, who was the tournament in charge, and Dr. Shishpal, who was in charge of Kabaddi, were also present.

. Few of the matches were very closely contested. The final match

was played between Aaditya Kumar, a BBA final year student and Hardik, a BCA 4th Sem. student. In this closely contested match, Aaditya beat Hardik by 21/19. And became the man of the tournament. Deepak, a student of B.Tech 4th sem. remained 2nd runners up.

The Kabaddi tournament was started by blowing off the whistle. All 5 teams have to play with each other during the league match. The final match was played between Team BBA and Team B.Tech, in which team BBA beat team B.Tech. Team BBA scored 24 points, and team B.Tech scored 16 points. Team BCA has remained in the 3rd position. Ravi, a student of BBA, was declared player of the match.

Dr. Vinay Kumar Singhal, the principal of GIET, congratulated the winning teams and the players of the winning team. He also told the other players not to break their hearts and advised them to do more practice to be a winner next time.
