SHALA PRAVESH SAMSKAR AND PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
Gateway International School had its Shala Pravesh Samskar and Parent Orientation Programme on April 4, 2018 (Wednesday) for classes Pearl to V, to mark the commencement of the new session. New parents and students were acquainted with the school system by the Headmistress ma’am Ms. Indu Dhingra. Students took the blessings of Maa Saraswati to begin their new journey. Interaction session for the parents along with their wards with their respective teachers was held.
COOL POOL PARTY (CLASS I-V)
The GIS splash pool is a great place to escape the heat and make fun memories. Hence a ‘Cool Pool Party’ was organized for the children of Pre-primary to II on May 9, 2018 (Wednesday) to beat the summers.
The poolside was abundantly decorated with balloons, balls and buntings. Tables were arranged with colourful umbrellas to add ambience to the party. The tiny tots turned up in colourful swim-suits and had great fun playing in the water. Refreshing drinks to sip and snacks were served; music to make the mood, were relished by all.
TALENT SHOW (CLASS I-V)
"Everyone has a talent. What is rare is the courage to follow it."
Keeping this in mind, GIS Juniors organized "Little Champs" Talent Hunt Show on 4 May, 2018 (Friday) for the students of class I-V to nurture their intrinsic qualities & remove their stage fear.
The students, dressed in colourful clothes, were full of confidence, danced to different tunes, sang melodious songs, acted brilliantly & showcased a fantastic ramp walk.
PARENTS INTERACTION SESSION (PRE PRIMARY)
Tiny tots need special attention and focus from their parents and teachers, and hence GIS Juniors organized Interactive Session for the parents of classes Pearl, Ruby and Diamond on 28 April, 2018 (Saturday). Headmistress Ms. Indu Dhingra addressed the parents and acquainted them with the total system of pre-primary. Demos related to language development, numbers development, sensorial and fine/gross motor development were given through apparatus. The session was open to parents to clarify queries, if any.
PARENTS INTERACTION SESSION (CLASS I & II)
The most overwhelming key to child’s success is the positive involvement of the parents and the school. Keeping this in mind, Gateway International School organized an “Interactive Session” for the parents of classes I and II on April 21, 2018 (Saturday). The session was aimed at acquainting the parents with the school curriculum, teaching methodology as well as co-scholastic system of the school. Headmistress Ma’am Ms. Indu Dhingra gave a talk highlighting the student activities in the school. The need to instill high moral values among children, and give a boost to their personality development was the main agenda of the interaction. The session was open to parents to clarify queries, if any.
PARENTS INTERACTION SESSION (CLASS IV & V)
GIS Juniors conducted Parents' Interaction for the parents of Classes IV & V on 12 May, 2018 (Saturday). Headmistress Ms. Indu Dhingra acquainted the parents with the scholastic and co-scholastic system of the class. The importance & the need to develop positive behaviour and good habits among the children were thoroughly discussed. According to her, inculcating discipline in them in the right age will surely help in the long run.
Gateway International School celebrated Founder’s Day and International Labours’ Day conjointly with great pizzas.
On the special occasions of Founder’s Day and International Labours’ Day, several competitions were organized for the students. It included a 4kilometer marathon race, ran spiritedly by the young athletes flagging off the events of the day. It was succeeded by Flower Making, Slogan Writing and Drawing competitions. The cultural programme which followed consisted of an enthralling group dance, a melodious song by the school choir, an excellent street play on the theme of ‘Dignity of Labour’ enacted by the very talented boarders of GIS. An hour-long session of captivating, pulsating music, motivating and deeply meaningful ‘Satsang’ by the ‘Art of Living’ group conducted by the dynamic Mr. Shivam was cherished by all. The support staff was felicitated and honoured for their immense and indispensible contribution in the smooth running of the school.
On 11th of May, 20 students from GIS escorted by Mr. Deepak Kuhar, participated in Technovate- the technical fest of GIET which included certain LAN games, project presentation and a documentary show on Innovative Technology on the occasion of NTD(National Technology Day).
