To mark the occasion of the 74th United Nations Day, Gateway International School

To mark the occasion of the 74th United Nations Day, Gateway International School (GIS), Sonipat and The Dais have finalised multiple collaborations to further the vision of community development through youth leadership. This collaboration focuses on creation of an eco-system for students to be the leaders of today and to work on Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and Social Inclusion under the guidance of The Dais and GIS Faculty and Administrators. Led by Mr. Prem Kumar Ojha, Principal, GIS & Mrs. Indu Dhingra, Head Mistress, GIS and Mr. Keshav Gupta, Founder and Mr. Devesh Gupta. Director, Youth Development Programs for The Dais, the teams finalised and signed MoUs on promoting social inclusion, setting up of a SDG Lab at GIS, Sonipat. The partnership, which has resulted from a 2 month long consultation between the two prestigious educational institutions, wherein it was recognised that students are the leaders for today and must get grassroots exposure to develop empathy in them to be be self motivated towards welfare of the local community. The consultation on the UN Day, was also attended by Faculty Members and Representatives from the Students’ Council of GIS and saw many insightful comments and observations made by them to take ownership of taking The Dais SDG Lab forward and also to host a Literary & Cultural Festival in November 2019, to launch the Lab and the Model UN Club, flagship programs of The Dais in close collaboration with GIS, Sonipat. Team GIS identified Quality Education, Climate Action, Gender Empowerment, Peace & Social Justice as some of the priority goals for Youth Action due to their relevance for the Youth and for people of Sonipat. Consultation on the UN Day, hosted at GIS, Sonipat also saw the two organisations chalk out and finalise certain critical initiatives such as MUN Club, SDG Lab, GIS Youth Parliament, SDG themed Literary & Cultural Festival and several unique projects such as translation of Youth Parliament Handbook in Hindi for making knowledge inclusive and equal for all.
